The craziness that is the "Deep Fried Mars Bar"
Far away. deep in the frigid north-east of Scotland there is a frozen city known as "Aberdeen". Legend has it that this town is home to a monster to rival that of the neighbouring Loch Ness. One found only in the darkest corners of Aberdeen after a late night out on the lash. I speak of the fabled Deep Fried Mars Bar of course. A nutritionist's worst nightmare and a drunkard's best friend. The Deep fried Mars Bar was reportedly first created in 1995 in The Haven Chip Bar outside Aberdeen. The crazy food item quickly caught the attention of the local Tabloid Newspapers such as the Scotsman and Herald and within five days the BBC world service ran an article on the Deep Fried Mars Bar. Since the food's conception it has inspired various other tries at creating an equally fattening food.
